John N. Migliaccio, PhD

President


Dr. John Migliaccio currently serves as Director of Research for the MetLife Mature Market Institute where he is responsible for developing and implementing the Institute's research program, including studies, polls and analyses. Nationally recognized in the field of aging, and an award winning researcher, he has served on several national boards, including those of the American Society on Aging and the National Association of Senior Living Industries.

Dr. Migliaccio is a founding member of the American Institute of Financial Gerontology and the National Association of Senior Living Industries (NASLI). He served on the NASLI Board of Directors from its inception in 1985 until 1993 and has been an Executive Committee member and chair of the Mature Market Commission. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Society on Aging (ASA) and was a founding member and chairman of ASA's innovative Business Forum on Aging. He has also been member of both the United States Administration on Aging's Private Sector Management Committee and the Business and Aging Leadership Roundtable.

Prior to working with MetLife, Dr. Migliaccio has consulted for many of the nation's leading financial services and public sector organizations as President of Maturity Mark Services, a New York-based marketing consulting firm targeting the baby boomer and mature consumer. Prior to his tenure at Maturity Mark, he served for twelve years as Vice President & Director, Special Projects of Hearst Business Communications' Retirement Advisors Division, the nation's largest private sector retirement communications and retirement planning company.

Dr. Migliaccio is co-author of the book, 77 Truths About Marketing to the 50+ Consumer and a frequently published contributor to the field of aging in journals and books including the Journal of Gerontology, SPECTRUM Magazine, Retirement Planning Journal, Aging Today and Retirement Planning Perspectives, among others. He is frequently called upon by members of the media to serve as an expert in the area of financial gerontology. He has been quoted by major national news outlets such as U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Money Magazine, CNN and National Public Radio, as well as countless leading trade publications.
