How the Foundations Program Works

Foundations of Financial Gerontology involves a 3-course program of study. Once the three courses have been completed, a Certificate of Completion, issued jointly by AIFG and the American Society on Aging (ASA), will be awarded.

The courses in the program are qualified as providing Continuing Education credits for various other professional programs and designations. Here is more information.

Tuition for each of the Foundations courses is $200 per course and includes:

  • copies of presentation materials,

  • a full set of background documents and supporting materials, and

  • all documentation for Continuing Education credits.

Discounts can be arranged for groups registering from a single organization. For more information, inquire by email to: info@aifg.org

To receive the AIFG-ASA Certificate of Completion, students need not take the courses for the Foundations of Financial Gerontology track in sequence. Students may retain course credit and apply these courses toward completion of the track over a period of three (3) years.

With suitable background and/or education qualifications, courses in the Foundations track may be applied toward the Registered Financial GerontologistTM designation (RFG®); a time limit will apply. The RFG designation program also involves other requirements, including a comprehensive examination, a code of ethics, and a service learning component.
